Tote bags - 2023 and onwards

Description
I made a series of tote bags made from upcycled jeans and leftover fabrics and shirts.

What have I learned?
There are several things that you have to pay attention to when deconstructing and reconstructing something. In the case of jeans, it was needed to construct the panels in such a way so there was as little waste as possible. Furthermore, there were parts on the jeans which had more wear or “character” than others, using those parts resulted in more visual interest but also told something about the previous wearer.

Some of these bags were sold, it was not a serious business but it made me think how I could make this concept into something promising. People could deliver me their own pants and shirts, giving me the opportunity to sustainably repurpose their garments, while they could enjoy their old pants in a new way and preserve the stories that they made in them.
